Job Title: Executive Chef
Job Summary:
Prato 850, a rapidly growing restaurant group, is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team at our Commack location. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing kitchen personnel, ensuring the quality preparation of all food items, and maintaining proper handling and storage of all food items in accordance with applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and Train Kitchen Staff: Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they are meeting the highest standards of quality and service.
- Maintain Kitchen Cleanliness and Sanitation: Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and meets all health and safety standards.
- Quality Control and Standards: Maintain high standards of quality and presentation in all dishes.
- Lead by Example: Demonstrate a passion for food and lead by example in the kitchen.
- Daily Production and Ordering: Coordinate daily production and ordering to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Assist Expediting During Service: Assist the expediting team during service to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Support the Line: Support the line staff as needed to ensure seamless service.
- Assist in Menu Development: Assist in the development of new menu items and specials.
- Alert Owners to Problems: Alert the owners to any problems or issues that may arise in the kitchen.
- Lead Staff in Food Handling Standards: Lead the staff in following the standards for food handling and preparation.
- Maintain Proper Storage and Labeling: Maintain proper storage, labeling, and dating of all food items.
- Supervise Equipment Maintenance: Supervise the proper maintenance of equipment and kitchen areas.
- Maintain Good Sanitation and Safety Practices: Maintain good sanitation and safety practices, including personal hygiene.
- Fully Clean the Kitchen: Ensure the kitchen is fully cleaned and sanitized at the end of each service.
Requirements:
- Available to Work: Available to work lunch and dinner shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Suffolk County Food Handlers Certificate: Must have a Suffolk County Food Handlers Certificate.
