We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to join our team as the Head of Drug Discovery and Translational Biology. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will have the chance to make a significant impact on the development of novel cancer therapies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preclinical development of our pipeline programs, leveraging our proprietary MARMOT platform to identify and validate novel targets in cancer.
  • Design and execute comprehensive preclinical research programs, including biochemical assays, cell-based assays, proteomics-based assays, in vivo experiments, and preclinical toxicology studies.
  • Collaborate with our medicinal chemists and computational chemists to design and optimize small molecule therapeutics targeting previously undruggable transcription factors.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of scientists to design and execute preclinical research programs and interpret data.
  • Collaborate with our scientific leadership to design large-scale proteomics drug screening and triage hits arising from these screens.
  • Analyze the scientific, clinical, and commercial viability of targets arising from discovery screens using the MARMOT platform.
  • Develop and present compelling scientific and business cases to support our research and development programs.
  • Work closely with our leadership team to develop a strategic vision and plan for our research and development programs.
  • Manage operational budgets and capital plans to support research and development.
Requirements
  • PhD or MD with significant experience in a related scientific area, such as chemistry, biology, or pharmacology.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years of preclinical R&D management experience at the director level or above.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in identifying, validating, and progressing novel small molecule therapeutics into development and clinical trials, preferably in oncology or rare disease.
  • Broad perspective of oncology therapeutics discovery and development, with a successful track record of leading programs, especially with novel targets and/or modern discovery technologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific and business concepts to a wide audience.
  • A track record of building, developing, and leading high-performing teams of scientists in the drug discovery ecosystem.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 7 years of preclinical R&D management experience at the director level or above.
  • Experience leading two or more compounds through IND.
