Seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program Director at Loyola University New Orleans.

About the Role

This is a full-time, 12-month leadership position that oversees the organizational administration of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of the program, ensuring compliance with NONPF and CCNE accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership: Provide direction and guidance for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program, ensuring alignment with university goals and objectives.
  • Curriculum Development: Oversee the development and refinement of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program curriculum materials, adhering to regulatory and professional guidelines.
  • Faculty Supervision: Function as supervisor for all Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program faculty, clinical coordinators, and adjunct faculty teaching in the specialty.
  • Clinical Partnerships: Lead the securing of affiliation agreements/contracts for all clinical sites.
  • Policymaking: Coordinate development and implementation of policies related to admission, progression, sequencing, and remediation of classroom and clinical practice components of the program.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Nursing: A Doctorate in nursing, or a related field (e.g., PhD, DNP, EdD, DrPH, DM, or other), required.
  • Experience: Active clinical practice as a PMHNP, current national certification as a PMHNP, eligibility for advanced practice licensure, and as a registered nurse in Louisiana, required.
  • Teaching Experience: Experience with academic teaching in PMH or advanced practice nursing, preferred.
  • Leadership Experience: Participation in leadership roles in midwifery, nursing, or related professional fields locally, regionally, and nationally, preferred.
