Job Title: Commercial Construction Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our team at Engelke Construction Solutions / Engelke Facility Solutions.

Job Summary:

The Commercial Construction Superintendent will provide leadership on the jobsite, coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and foremen of a specific construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the onsite management of a project, maintaining project schedule and managing the jobsite workforce to ensure an orderly flow of work, sequence of operation, and quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Uphold and represent all company values and ethics, maintaining a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the Company and client.
  • Hold weekly coordination meetings with subcontractor foremen / project managers to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required.
  • Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule, notifying project management team of schedule and performance issues.
  • Provide daily reports on company provided software, including photos, manpower, activities performed, delays, JHAs, material deliveries, and weather conditions.
  • Manage the Company Safety program as outlined in the Company Safety manual, and provide incident and accident reports as required.
  • Initiate RFI's to project manager addressing issues with interpretation of plans and specifications, missing information, incorrect details, incomplete information, and other issues that require the direction of the Architect and Engineer.
  • Responsible for coordination and scheduling of inspections with local officials having jurisdiction over the project.
  • Responsible for quality control in monitoring the work and its adherence to the construction documents, and project requirements.
  • Maintain a good cooperative relationship with project management team, subcontractors, vendors, architect, engineers, local officials, and client.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of commercial building construction experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the general construction and subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications, construction means, methods, and materials.
  • Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures.
  • Computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
