Job Description

Intralox, a leading provider of innovative conveyance solutions, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join its Equipment R&D Group in Hanover, MD.

This role involves designing and developing new conveyance solutions using Intralox's Activated Roller Belt (ARB) technology, with a focus on Develop-To-Order (DTO) projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply engineering principles and practices to design, develop, and release products and subsystems.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of Intralox's ARB technology and its applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project activities, including project managers, controls engineers, assembly technicians, and test engineers.
  • Design products that meet equipment life cycle concepts, such as manufacturability, manufacturing costs, assembly, performance, reliability, and service.
  • Support the generation of product documentation and equipment manuals.
  • Assist with equipment installation, start-up, and troubleshooting, including on-site visits.
  • Provide technical assistance to sales account managers and customers through various communication channels.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial machine design.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed parts, weldments, assemblies, and installation drawings, preferably using Inventor 3D.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and MS Office.
  • Ability to maintain poise and focus under time constraint pressures and adverse conditions.
  • Travel required (up to 10%) for equipment installation and troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to work with tools in an industrial environment and ability to lift 40 pounds and climb ladders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Autodesk Inventor experience, especially in sheet metal design.
  • PTC Windchill.
  • Conveyor equipment design experience.
  • Knowledge of stage and gate style Development Process, such as APQP.
  • Familiarity with SCRUM methodology.

The salary range for this position is $66,000 to $168,600, depending on experience and qualifications.
