Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor junior engineers in performing hydrologic and hydraulic design calculations for stormwater management systems and bridge hydraulic studies. This includes hydraulic modeling, utilizing various industry-standard software, and preparing necessary sketches, plans, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure environmental compliance and assist in the preparation of permit applications.
- Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of design work both internally and across various disciplines.
- Review engineering plans and details, and prepare or evaluate technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with Highway, Structural, and Geotechnical Engineering teams, and undertake additional duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with software such as HEC-RAS, HY-8, SRH-2D, HydroCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, MicroStation (including InRoads), and AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of GIS software is advantageous.
- Project experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, floodplain studies, channel stability, hydraulic modeling, bridge scour, and environmental permitting.
- Familiarity with FHWA, USACE, and AASHTO design guidelines, as well as New Jersey Administrative Code (NJAC 7:8, 7:7, and 7:13) is preferred.
- Licensure as a New Jersey Professional Engineer is preferred, with other jurisdictions also considered.
