Bariatric Surgery Program Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Program Manager for our Bariatric Surgery Program. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for optimizing care coordination and patient education in weight management and bariatric surgery programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a clinical liaison between Christiana Care, patients, clinicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, prioritizing based on patient need and ensuring timely and effective transitions between care settings.
- Conduct and coordinate bariatric education programs on various topics, adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in bariatric surgery and weight management, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with MBSAQIP standards and JCAHO regulations.
- Monitor and collect statistical data on patient outcomes, working with the MBS Clinical Reviewer to identify areas for improvement.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues and concerns.
- Take personal responsibility for accurate and timely completion of all necessary patient care documentation, maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity.
- Participate in marketing activities as needed, promoting the program and its services to the community.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in inservice or educational programs, staying current on best practices and emerging trends in healthcare.
- Licensed/Registered clinician with a minimum of 10 years' experience in healthcare delivery, with prior experience in weight management programs and bariatric surgery preferred.
- Certified Bariatric Nurse (CBN) certification is highly desirable.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Delaware, with BCLS certification required.
