About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during your designated shift. You will work collaboratively with other members of the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. Your expertise and commitment to excellence will serve as a resource for staff, and you will model a commitment to our organization's vision, mission, and values.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Ortho/Neuro nursing experience preferred, one year of Med/Surg. nursing experience preferred.
  • Associate's Degree in nursing required, Bachelor's preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) and Certification preferred.
  • Certified Ortho/Neuro Nurse preferred.
  • Leadership and management experience is highly desirable.
