COMHAR Inc., a non-profit organization, is looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to fill the role of Residential Counselor II in our Community Residential Rehabilitation Services (CRRS) program located in North Philadelphia.

About the Role:

The Residential Counselor II will provide direct support and supervision to clients living in our homelike environment, promoting independence, self-determination, and healthy social interaction. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to deliver comprehensive services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Support Clients: Provide guidance and oversight to clients in their daily activities, including education, recreation, and skill-building exercises.
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of clients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all internal and external regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Document Progress and Develop Plans: Maintain accurate and timely records of client progress, participate in service plan development and review, and ensure continuity of care through effective communication with colleagues.
  • Comply with Regulations: Stay informed about and adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards affecting CRRS operations, including HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Participate in team meetings, attend training sessions, and contribute to creating a positive and supportive work environment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in human services or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 6 months to 1 year of experience working with mentally ill or emotionally challenged populations, preferably in a residential setting.
  • A valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

Estimated Annual Salary Range: $32,760 - $43,740 based on full-time hours and experience.
