We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Culinary Specialist to join our team at Cherokee Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our food service department, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our patients, employees, and guests.
Job Summary
The Culinary Specialist will work closely with our dietary manager to ensure that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This will involve assembling meals for patients, employees, hospital guests, and our independent living facility, as well as maintaining accurate records of food temperatures and inventory.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble meals for patients, employees, hospital guests, and our independent living facility, ensuring that all meals meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of food temperatures and inventory, including freezer and refrigerator temperatures.
- Restock kitchen items and supplies as needed.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining areas, including dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Operate the cash register and manage cash transactions accurately.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- ServSafe Manager certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- 1-2 years of experience in the food service industry, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Time management skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position, with varied hours, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
