Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with a Professional Engineering (PE) license to join our team at FourFront Design Inc. in South Dakota. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for commercial, medical, and professional office buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including structural electrical power distribution, lighting, and cabling systems.
  • Assess client needs and manage the design and production aspects of the project.
  • Promote and provide expertise in sustainable design practices as required by the project.
  • Review design, construction budgets, and schedules to work accordingly.
  • Determine electrical design and project scope, budget, and staffing requirements.
  • Apply intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable codes and ordinances.
  • Provide construction administrative reviews.
  • Interpret the intent of electrical contract drawings and specifications for the Client, General Contractor, Building Inspector, and other interested parties.
  • Prepare and distribute schedules, shop drawings, and samples.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and quality of all technical work.
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals.
  • Review contracts, invoices, and other project documentation before distribution to the client.
  • Coordinate work of outside consultants in electrical engineering.
  • Apply time-management skills for meeting deadlines.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous electrical design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Willingness to apply for additional licensure when appropriate and/or required for work in the region.
  • Knowledge of LEED principles; encouraged to become LEED accredited.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD required; Visual-3D helpful.
  • Preferred RCDD certification, but not required.
  • Preferred government and Veteran Affairs (VA) experience.
