Position Summary

Jeffers Crane Service, Inc. is in search of experienced Construction Safety Officers for a temporary role. The ideal candidate will possess over three years of relevant experience in safety management within the crane and rigging sector or the broader construction field. This is a full-time, non-exempt temporary role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting new employee orientations, including verification processes and drug screening management.
  • Performing field safety audits in accordance with client and company standards.
  • Assisting in the investigation of incidents to ensure safety compliance.
  • Leading daily toolbox talks to promote safety awareness.
  • Collecting and reviewing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Reporting directly to the company’s safety manager regarding safety matters.
  • Addressing safety concerns raised by employees and management.
  • Conducting inspections of rigging equipment.
  • Managing the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possession of a minimum OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a refinery setting.
  • Familiarity with cranes and heavy machinery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Experience in conducting accident investigations.
  • Proficient in operating personal computers.
