Position Summary
Jeffers Crane Service, Inc. is in search of experienced Construction Safety Officers for a temporary role. The ideal candidate will possess over three years of relevant experience in safety management within the crane and rigging sector or the broader construction field. This is a full-time, non-exempt temporary role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting new employee orientations, including verification processes and drug screening management.
- Performing field safety audits in accordance with client and company standards.
- Assisting in the investigation of incidents to ensure safety compliance.
- Leading daily toolbox talks to promote safety awareness.
- Collecting and reviewing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Reporting directly to the company’s safety manager regarding safety matters.
- Addressing safety concerns raised by employees and management.
- Conducting inspections of rigging equipment.
- Managing the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a minimum OSHA 30-hour certification.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a refinery setting.
- Familiarity with cranes and heavy machinery.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
- Experience in conducting accident investigations.
- Proficient in operating personal computers.
