Remote Inpatient Coder Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Inpatient Coder to join our team in a remote capacity. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with a dynamic organization and contribute to the success of our clients.

Salary: $35 per hour

Location: Remote (US time zones)

Job Summary

This position involves conducting retrospective medical claims review for coding and pricing determinations, as well as providing coding-related information to medical directors, providers, and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding, with a minimum of 5 years of clinical coding experience in inpatient accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on medical claims coding for outpatient and inpatient services.
  • Performs medical claims coding reviews using current coding guidelines.
  • Identifies and reports potential fraudulent or quality issues.

Requirements:

  • Current Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical coding experience in inpatient accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
