Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Technician will assist clients with Crisis Services while maintaining a safe and therapeutic work environment. This role requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet clients' daily basic needs for health and safety, including meal preparation, safety checks, and transportation as directed by a supervisor.
  • Complete all required electronic and paper charting, documentation, and data entry of clients as outlined in KMHS guidelines, manuals, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical activities, including facilitating group activities, conducting ongoing observation and assessment of clients' mental status, and recording client nutritional intake, sleep, and vitals.
  • Follow specific behavioral protocols for clients as directed by a supervisor and complete all paperwork involved in providing direct client care.
  • Attend all mandatory training on time and as scheduled and keep current on all required documentation.
Requirements:
  • Entry-level experience (no prior related work experience)
  • Valid Washington Food Handler card (can be obtained after hire)
  • Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration (can be obtained after hire)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experienced (minimum two years of job-related experience)
  • Relevant experience working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Capacity to work well with children and families
Working Conditions:

The Behavioral Health Technician will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and must be able to maintain audio and visual observation at all times. The ability to stand and be mobile for long periods, lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, and remain calm in potentially stressful situations is required.
