Job Summary:

The Academic Support Specialist will play a vital role in supporting students with learning differences at the Academy of the Holy Cross. This full-time position is designed to provide individualized support, guidance, and accommodations to students, ensuring they reach their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with the Director of Saint Mary's Resource Program to ensure students receive tailored support and accommodations.
    • Develop and implement programs based on student needs in collaboration with the Counseling staff.
    • Provide regular updates to teachers, parents, and guardians regarding student progress and recommendations for support.
  • Student Support:
    • Interpret evaluations and assessments to inform instructional strategies and support student success.
    • Monitor student performance and intervene when necessary to prevent academic decline.
    • Develop and facilitate workshops on study skills, organization, time management, and test-taking strategies.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, including grades, test results, and correspondence.
    • Participate in department meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have a Master's degree in Special Education or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience working in a classroom setting with children with learning differences is required. You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
