POSITION OVERVIEW
As a pivotal member of our team, you will oversee the planning of empty vessels. Your role will involve:
- Coordinating with the stock management team to ensure optimal empty stock levels.
- Collaborating with stock management to enhance stock feed areas as necessary.
- Maintaining effective communication with cargo flow, headquarters, stock management, and port operations.
- Identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives that benefit the organization.
- Monitoring forecasts to assess storage and inventory risks in the forthcoming weeks.
- Targeting idle or damaged containers designated for empty vessel loading.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong attention to detail coupled with exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and v-lookups.
- Expertise in MS Access, including macro writing and debugging.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL Developer.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The following qualifications are preferred:
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the shipping industry.
- A general understanding of equipment procedures.
- At least one year of relevant industry experience.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
