Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Assembly Operations Associate to join our team at Blackstone Advanced Technologies. As an Assembly Operations Associate, you will be responsible for preparing work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. You will also assemble components by fastening parts and subassemblies, verify specifications by measuring completed component, and resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Assemble components by fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and any trouble shooting required.
  • Inspect parts for inaccuracies or complications and discuss any issues with supervisor or manufacturing engineer.
  • Responsible for handling material at work station and maintaining a clean working station.
  • Knowledge on how to use hand tools, rivet gun, drill etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to read blueprints, use calipers, protractors and machinist squares.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
