Job Summary:

As a Mechanical Design Lead at System One, you will be responsible for leading a team of designers in the development of mechanical systems for our clients. You will work closely with production management and cross-functional design teams to ensure that designs meet customer requirements and are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead a team of designers in the development of mechanical systems
* Collaborate with production management and cross-functional design teams to ensure timely delivery of designs
* Review and approve technical adequacy of drawings and provide direction for corrections or adjustments
* Establish policies and procedures for design concepts and procedures

Requirements:

* 10 years of shipyard design and construction experience or equivalent related maritime/production experience
* 1-3 years of experience leading design teams of 5 or more persons
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, or other 3D modeling software

Preferred Qualifications:

* AA Degree in CAD
* Experience in the construction of high-speed aluminum vessels
* Knowledge of modular construction methods

Additional Guidelines:

* Candidates must meet the following employment eligibility guidelines to be considered for employment: 18 years of age or older at time of application, able to provide proof of US Person Status, no felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within 7 years from disposition date, no felony convictions of Drug crimes within 3 years from disposition date, willing to submit to a drug screen, and willing to submit to a background check
