Chemical Production Specialist

Thompson First Group is in search of a skilled Chemical Operator / Batch Maker to support a local client. Candidates with experience in batch manufacturing within an industrial environment are highly encouraged to consider this opportunity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Adhere to daily operational schedules as directed by management.
- Safely manage and handle chemical substances.
- Conduct batching, weighing, and sampling of materials.
- Mix and measure ingredients according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Comply with company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area and facility.
- Oversee the upkeep of the workspace and associated equipment.
- Promptly communicate any irregularities or issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure efficient scheduling to meet production targets.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and quality control technicians throughout the batching process.
- Document and report inventory changes resulting from each batch on a designated batch sheet.
- Perform routine sampling for quality assurance.
- Follow guidance from supervisors and quality control personnel to ensure product quality standards are met.
- May assist with general labor tasks as required by management.
- May help train new employees on the safe operation of mixing equipment.
- Exhibit a strong attendance record and punctuality.

- Ability to understand and comply with relevant safety, quality, and operational policies.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Forklift operation experience is advantageous.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and processes simultaneously.
- Experience with reading and implementing SOPs is beneficial.
- Preferred background in handling chemicals or light chemical manufacturing.
- Basic mathematical skills applicable in a work setting.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and tasks.
- Positive work attitude and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Post-training, employees must demonstrate understanding of safety protocols through assessments.
- Ability to comprehend and follow posted safety signage throughout the facility.
- Understanding of lock-out and tag-out procedures.
- Familiarity with the operator manual and SOP for safe equipment operation.
- Knowledge of hazard communication policies.
- Vision must be 20/20 or corrected to 20/20.
- Must possess the ability to hear and communicate effectively.
- Full range of motion is required for various physical tasks.
- Capability to perform repetitive strenuous tasks under diverse climate conditions.
- Able to safely lift weights up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with varying physical demands.
