Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on topics pertinent to adult life and curate suitable materials for instructional purposes.
  • Facilitate a variety of academic and skill-building courses covering areas such as Household Management, Social Adaptation, Problem Solving, Effective Communication, Self-Management, Community Engagement, and Career Guidance.
  • Develop individualized lesson plans that outline the class objectives, instructional methods, and detailed notes.
  • Create opportunities for participants to apply learned skills in real-world community settings.
  • Follow program guidelines and uphold staff standards while promoting mature and responsible behavior among participants.
  • Document participant progress daily using a designated database and collaborate with team members to enhance educational, physical, and social development.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of disabilities, community resources, and the independent living movement through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Assist in managing medical and behavioral emergencies, ensuring proper documentation as required.
  • Engage in regular team meetings and contribute to agency-wide discussions.
  • Provide personal assistance to individuals as needed, including mobility support and assistance with meals.
  • Facilitate community outings to enhance participation and integration.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
