About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Technician to join our team in Frederick. As a key member of our construction materials team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Activities: Conduct field tests for soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement, following industry standards and compliance.
  • Testing Procedures: Perform routine field tests using various methodologies and testing equipment, and engage in data collection and reduction.
  • Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers, and keep supervisors and project teams informed of changing site conditions.
  • Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing, and document findings with precision.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must have and be willing to maintain current basic level certifications and be willing to obtain an additional 2 advanced certifications.
  • OSHA 10 is a plus.
  • Position requires carrying lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height.
  • Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Must provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage will be reimbursed.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops.
  • Strong math skills with the ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office.
