We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Network Security team as a Co-op. As a Co-op, you'll have the opportunity to work on high-impact projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of network security protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of secure network architectures.
  • Participate in incident response and threat management activities.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a University of Texas at Dallas Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Wireless Technologies, High-Frequency Design, Artificial Intelligence, or a related major.
  • Coursework or demonstrated experience in scripting and coding (e.g., Python, Java, React, NodeJS, NextJS, Javascript/Typescript).
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
  • Proficiency in binary analysis.
  • Knowledge of Network & Security protocols (e.g., TCP/IP).
  • Knowledge of Identity & Access Management Centralize IAM Protocols: MFA, TACACS+, Radius, SAML 2.0/Single SignOn, Password Safes/Storage.
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools like Git.
  • Knowledge of REST fundamentals, API design patterns, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Threat Management and Incident Response (e.g., Splunk).
  • Knowledge of fraud identification, key management, OAuth, and OpenID.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, policies, & standards, and security configurations.
  • Understanding of penetration testing.
