This position is essential as it serves as a technical and operational resource on-site. The ideal candidate will leverage their process knowledge, technical expertise, and operational experience to address process or equipment issues, as well as enhance process performance and reliability.
As a Production Leader, you will hold overall responsibility and accountability for plant assets, personnel, and the achievement of business objectives related to the facility.
To enhance the technical capabilities of teams, effective utilization of plant resources is required, along with practical process knowledge, sharing experiences, technical skills, and insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical/process expert on-site and a resource in individual areas of specialization.
- Lead and coordinate production, engineering, and maintenance teams.
- Train plant personnel to resolve operational technical issues.
- Conduct or assist in process hazard analyses, root cause analyses, or process-related failure investigations.
- Enhance frontline skills and knowledge through training in process equipment, engineering, etc.
- Oversee capital and expense improvement projects. Manage improvement initiatives as necessary.
- Support Health, Safety, and Environmental functions. Provide data for emissions calculations. Supply information to regulatory agencies for compliance permits. Interface with plant standards.
- Participate as needed in product custody audits, customer visits, and provide support to address and resolve customer needs.
- Responsible for the site and business technology plan; assist the organization in defining long-term improvement and capital plans.
Education and Experience:
- A degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
- 5+ years of experience in the Chemical/Refining Industry, encompassing a broad range of technical experiences.
- Advanced process management and control skills are essential, along with strong interpersonal abilities to define and implement necessary actions.
- A keen business acumen is necessary to help manage optimal manufacturing process performance and identify opportunities or threats for the organization.
- Experience as an Operations Engineer/Manager is a plus.
