Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lead Educator to join our team at Thomas Hamilton Primary School. As a Lead Educator, you will be responsible for leading a team of educators, implementing our curriculum, and creating a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and Coach Educators: Provide guidance, support, and feedback to less experienced educators to ensure they have the skills and confidence to deliver high-quality education.
- Implement Curriculum: Develop and implement our curriculum in a way that meets the unique needs of each child, ensuring they receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for success.
- Create a Safe and Nurturing Environment: Design and maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging environment that promotes children's physical, emotional, and social development.
- Partner with Parents: Build strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress and involving them in their child's education.
- Support Center Success: Collaborate with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
- Cultivate Relationships: Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, educators, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners.
- Customer Service Skills: Provide exceptional customer service to families, educators, and other stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple situations effectively.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential: Possess an active CDA Credential or meet NAEYC candidacy requirements.
- State Trainer (Preferred): Hold an approved state trainer certification.
- Early Childhood Education Experience: Have 2-3 years of experience in early childhood education.
- Bachelor's Degree: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
- CPR and First Aid Certification: Possess CPR and First Aid Certification or be willing to obtain.
- State-Specific Guidelines: Meet state-specific guidelines for the role.
- Computer Skills: Use a computer, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors.
- Communication Skills: Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English.
