Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Fire Prevention Specialist at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. This is a full-time shift position that requires a strong commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our facilities and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to identify and correct fire hazards
  • Enforce laws, rules, and regulations related to fire safety and security
  • Provide security services at Griffin Memorial Hospital, including patrolling assigned premises and directing traffic
  • Assist employees and visitors as needed, and perform other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors, and others
Requirements
  • Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course, and 2 years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work
  • Ability to lift/carry 60 pounds occasionally, and push/pull a maximum force of 30 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to fulfill job-related travel
