Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Building Leadership Team Member. This role is a key part of our district's efforts to improve student outcomes and support teacher growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with building administration to develop and implement the School Improvement Plan, using the Building Teacher Leadership Framework as a guide.
  • Facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to address common issues related to curriculum, assessment, instruction, and student achievement.
  • Provide job-embedded professional development to support teacher instructional growth goals.
  • Establish clear and measurable goals focused on critical needs related to student achievement.
  • Analyze and interpret data to monitor progress toward school achievement goals.
Requirements
  • Standard Teaching License with three years of teaching experience, preferably in the Cedar Rapids Community School District.
  • Knowledge of equity principles and culturally responsive pedagogy.
  • Ability to train and coach teachers in the New Art and Science of Teaching.
  • Knowledge of the Building Leadership Team framework and research-based strategies in digital literacy.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of Professional Learning Community process and protocol.
Working Conditions

The work environment is typically quiet, with occasional noise from students and staff. The position requires flexibility and the ability to work in different areas of the classroom, including at desks, on the floor, and outdoors. The employee will work in indoor temperatures and may work outdoors when supervising students.
