Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will provide support to the instructional process by identifying students with communication disabilities and implementing treatment plans developed by the Speech Pathologist. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of communication disorders and be able to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess students' communication skills to identify communication disorders and develop recommendations for treatment.
  • Collaborate with the Speech Pathologist to implement treatment plans and provide support to students.
  • Provide speech and language therapy to students in accordance with mandated timelines and district procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and files, including progress reports and activity logs.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars to stay up-to-date on best practices and new developments in the field.
Requirements
  • Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in job-related area.
  • Arizona Department of Health License and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and schedules.
