Job Overview

Mercury Systems is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager for Program Operations to spearhead a newly established team that will serve as a vital link between Operations and the Profit & Loss (P&L) in the Compute sector. This role is crucial for instilling process discipline into Engineering Approval Checklists (EACs), proposals, and New Product Introductions (NPIs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the newly created Compute Program Operations team into a high-performing unit.
  • Act as the primary liaison for operations within the Compute sector, overseeing the entire process from material acquisition to hardware delivery.
  • Create a comprehensive framework for evaluating operational content on EACs, including risk and opportunity assessments.
  • Enhance the basis of estimate procedures for proposal initiatives.
  • Serve as a stakeholder for the business unit's make-buy-where board.
  • Hold approval authority for the NPI gate process, ensuring that products are production-ready at the transition point to manufacturing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience across various relevant fields such as Business Development, Engineering, and/or Program Management within the Aerospace and Defense sectors.
  • Proven ability to convey complex ideas clearly and succinctly to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in defining and implementing standardized processes.
  • Proficient in earned value management techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Background in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing, operations, supply chain, planning, program management, or process engineering.
  • Experience working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure.
  • Track record of leading teams successfully in a matrixed environment.
  • Willingness to travel over 25%, especially during the initial stages of team development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Department of Defense (DoD) and Aerospace Industries.
  • Ability to translate business and customer requirements into actionable strategies.
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI, Mendix, and advanced Excel tools.

Mercury Systems considers various factors when determining individual base salary offers, including role responsibilities, prior experience, education, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and market alignment. In addition to base salary, Mercury offers a range of benefits, including bonus opportunities, health and life insurance, company-paid holidays, a 401(k) retirement plan, and tuition reimbursement. Team members at the Director or Vice President level may also qualify for annual stock-based awards. Mercury provides a 9/80 alternative work schedule to enhance work-life balance.
