Senior Cash Register Supervisor

Compensation: $16.50 per hour

As a Senior Cash Register Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of customer engagement, ensuring that each patron feels appreciated and well-cared for. Your responsibilities will include warmly welcoming customers and efficiently managing sales transactions, all aimed at enhancing the shopping experience. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of donations for the sales floor, ensuring that items are properly sorted, priced, and presented.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Cash Register Supervisor is dedicated to delivering outstanding service to both donors and customers while preparing donations for the sales floor and assisting with purchases. This role includes responsibilities for cash management. Employment is subject to a criminal background check.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to assist patrons with their purchases
  • Operate the cash register in accordance with established cash handling protocols
  • Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales environment
  • Ensure fresh inventory is readily available at the front of the store
  • Perform opening and closing tasks, including cash drawer counts and bank deposits
  • Sort, price, tag, and prepare donated items for display on the sales floor
  • Ensure the quality of merchandise and pre-sort items for salvage
  • Offer supervisory support to team members in collaboration with store management
  • Adhere to safety and cleanliness standards
  • Exhibit a professional and adaptable demeanor; willing to undertake various job functions
  • Promote the mission and values of Goodwill
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 3 months experience in retail, cash handling, or customer service

CERTIFICATIONS:

No specific certifications required

QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to manage tasks with frequent interruptions and minimal supervision

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of items weighing up to 25 pounds. Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, push or pull. Must be able to communicate verbally and frequently use hands and fingers to handle objects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is typically moderate.
