Custodian Assistant

Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a part-time Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our Head Start center.

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, emptying trash, and washing windows.
• Maintain adequate supplies for bathrooms, including paper towels, toilet tissue, garbage bags, soap, and cleaning products.
• Communicate with center staff to ensure supplies and other cleaning needs are met.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as tightening screws, replacing light bulbs, and fixing broken items.
• Participate in 15 hours of required training and other training as assigned.

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions to complete daily tasks.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to work well with center staff.
• Good judgment, organization, and flexibility.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds occasionally and pails of water regularly.
