AIR POLLUTION CONTROL (APC) CIVIL ACTIONS INVESTIGATOR
The San Diego Medical Examiner is dedicated to safeguarding the community from the detrimental impacts of air pollution, ensuring adherence to air quality standards, promoting public engagement, and developing effective programs.
We are currently seeking applications for the position of Air Pollution Control Civil Actions Investigator to address an immediate need within our Compliance Division and to create a candidate pool for future opportunities.
The selected individual will be tasked with addressing violations of air quality regulations set forth by the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District (SDAPCD) and other relevant state and federal laws.
As an Air Pollution Control Civil Actions Investigator, responsibilities will include representing the organization during hearings and legal proceedings.
WORK SCHEDULE
The available positions may offer a hybrid work arrangement.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in chemistry, physics, engineering, environmental health, environmental science, biology, or a closely related scientific discipline; AND; two (2) years of professional regulatory experience in air pollution or a related field; OR,
A master's degree from an accredited institution in the aforementioned fields; AND; one (1) year of professional regulatory experience in air pollution or a related field.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
As part of the pre-employment process, candidates will undergo a background check and a medical screening prior to commencing employment.
Additional background investigations may be required based on the specific responsibilities of the position.
