Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is a key member of the Sysco Specialty Meats Group team, responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and direction of production operations at our meat processing facility. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and direct a team of production associates to meet and exceed productivity, safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production plans and schedules to ensure efficient use of resources and meet customer demands.
  • Team Leadership: Direct, coordinate, and monitor the daily activities and performance of production associates to ensure delivery of high-quality products and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels in the material handling and production areas, using a warehouse management system (WMS) to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet company standards and customer expectations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by directing safety training, generating and reviewing standard operating procedures (SOP), and coordinating with the safety department to investigate accidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in the implementation and roll-out of lean principles using 5S, Kaizen, and Kanban methods and tools to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent degree; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a meat processing or food distribution environment.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to read and analyze business documents, and proficiency in MS Office and warehouse management systems.
Work Environment

The Production Supervisor will work in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment, with exposure to various physical and environmental conditions. The role requires the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
