Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team at Sanders Brothers Construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining our asphalt plants, ensuring the production of high-quality asphalt products that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain asphalt plants, including batch plants, drum mix plants, and other equipment
  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections to ensure plant equipment is in good working order
  • Batch and mix asphalt materials according to customer and regulatory specifications
  • Load and unload asphalt materials from trucks and other equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment
  • Monitor and control inventory levels of materials and supplies
  • Communicate with dispatchers, drivers, and other team members to ensure smooth plant operations
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions and temperatures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in asphalt plant operations or a related field
  • Knowledge of asphalt production processes and equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights of up to 100 feet
  • Basic computer skills and ability to read technical manuals
  • Math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and nights
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in operating heavy mobile equipment
  • Experience in repair and maintenance of asphalt plants
  • Ability to cut, weld, and fabricate
  • Ability to diagnose sources of trouble and use hand tools, power tools, and machinery
