In addition to possessing robust technical expertise, our Lead Electrical Systems Engineer brings valuable hands-on problem-solving skills, merging analytical abilities with practical experience to tackle and resolve complex electronic and operational challenges.

They excel at dissecting issues to identify root causes and devise effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and Development
    • Contribute significantly to the creation of high-power and control electronics for aerial systems from initial concept to production.
    • Oversee all aspects of PCB design, including schematic capture, layout, and testing.
    • Utilize advanced PCB layout methodologies.
    • Employ ECAD and simulation tools (such as Altium and LTSpice) for design and development tasks.
    • Conduct electronics packaging with experience in 3D modeling and CAD.
  2. Analysis and Improvement
    • Perform thorough electronics failure analysis and propose mitigation strategies.
    • Apply RF Systems/MIL-STD-461 knowledge and associated RF noise reduction techniques.
    • Develop and enhance comprehensive documentation related to electronics, spanning design, manufacturing, and testing.
  3. Collaboration and Input
    • Work closely with technicians to assist in electronic assembly and testing.
    • Make substantial contributions to the product roadmap, including suggesting new features or products.
    • Collaborate with contract manufacturers to ensure timely production and delivery of electronic subassemblies.
    • Leverage experience in unmanned systems and/or hobbyist RC for product enhancement and troubleshooting.
    • Utilize real-world experience to propose and implement process improvements and staff development initiatives.
    • Demonstrate strong initiative and determination to achieve objectives and meet company goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in electronics and/or PCB design.
  • Proficient in all phases of PCB design, including schematic capture, layout, and testing.
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with integrating Computer on Module (CoM) and/or System on Modules (SoM).
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Altium, Mentor Graphics, PADS, Xpedition, Autodesk Eagle, or Mentor Graphics HyperLynx.

Additional Information

  • Experience with drones and/or autonomous systems is a plus.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for demonstrations, client meetings, and relevant industry events.
