Work Schedule

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Diagnosing mechanical issues, disassembling units, and executing repairs or replacements across various systems, including:
    • Braking Systems: Repairing or replacing components such as shoes, pads, drums, and air brakes.
    • Cooling Systems: Flushing radiators, replacing hoses, and repairing water pumps.
    • Drive Systems: Repairing driveshafts, differentials, and transmissions.
    • Electrical Systems: Replacing fuses, batteries, and wiring.
    • Exhaust Systems: Replacing mufflers and catalytic converters.
    • Heating and Air Conditioning: Repairing and recharging systems.
    • Hydraulic Systems: Repairing pumps and cylinders.
    • Steering and Suspension: Aligning wheels and replacing shock absorbers.
  • Overhauling and rebuilding engines as necessary.
  • Conducting routine maintenance tasks, including tune-ups and fluid checks.
  • Installing equipment such as snowplow frames and hydraulic systems.
  • Utilizing welding and cutting tools for repairs and fabrication.
  • Inspecting malfunctioning equipment and utilizing diagnostic tools for troubleshooting.
  • Maintaining accurate records of repairs and materials used.
  • Test driving vehicles post-repair to ensure functionality.
  • Keeping the workspace organized and tools in good condition.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of three years of experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid Michigan Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with necessary endorsements.
  • State certifications in relevant mechanical systems are preferred.
