Description
Summary: Enhance the SRIM experience by providing heartfelt care to residents and their families. Demonstrate and promote SRIM's core value of the golden rule by treating others with kindness, compassion, and respect. Attend to daily living needs of residents, encouraging independence while providing assistance with ADLs, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, peri-care, toileting, and hygiene.
- Interact with residents at all levels of care, showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
- Observe and report daily changes in residents' health and emotional wellbeing to the supervisor.
- Serve and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
- Initiate and participate in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents.
- Perform daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules.
- Ensure a dignified caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates.
- Respond promptly and courteously to residents' requests for assistance, including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors.
- Communicate effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding.
- Ensure residents and responsible parties sign residents out when they leave the community.
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment free from hazards.
- Report safety hazards immediately to the supervisor.
- Provide assistance to associates when requested or required.
- Know, understand, and follow established policy and procedures in emergency situations.
- Be essential personnel during emergencies and inclement weather.
- Report or remain at the community until released by the supervisor.
- Work as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments.
- Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates, and management.
- Comply with attendance and call-off policy.
- Participate in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings.
- Wear clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy.
- Refrain from discussing resident care issues with families, visitors, and refer all inquiries to the immediate supervisor.
- Know, understand, and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with training of new employees.
- Assist in mentoring new employees.
- Take the initiative in work, seek out additional information, offer solutions, and suggestions.
- Take on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties.
- Perform various housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain the community in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition.
- Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned or requested.
