About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer to join our Kuiper Propulsion Manufacturing Team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for the design and development of the propulsion system, which provides maneuvering capability to our spacecraft.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in hardware manufacturing and testing. You will be responsible for defining standard operating procedures for manufacturing equipment changes and maintenance processes, assisting in the build and development of test hardware, and training operators in the execution of developed processes.

You will work closely with manufacturing engineers to diagnose and solve issues, improve test throughput and stability, and develop MFG hardware and software improvements. Additionally, you will coordinate training of MFG Operators on developed processes and work with responsible engineers to develop MFG hardware and software improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define standard operating procedures for manufacturing equipment changes and maintenance processes
  • Assist in the build and development of test hardware, such as fixturing and harnessing
  • Train operators in the execution of developed processes
  • Work with manufacturing engineers to diagnose and solve issues and improve test throughput and stability
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of relevant hardware manufacturing/testing experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on work experience with precision manufacturing equipment such as laser welders, microscopes, or precision fixtures
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to documentation and procedures
  • 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced production environment

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base pay range of $123,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,000/year in our highest geographic market. Additionally, we offer equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
