Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Commission On Economic Opportunity. As a Universal Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of young children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of 4-year-old children, aligning with Common Core Standards and UPK School District requirements.
  • Utilize positive guidance strategies to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social-emotional growth and development.
  • Build strong relationships with staff, families, and community members through effective communication, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to diversity.
  • Collaborate with teacher assistants and service providers to ensure a cohesive and high-quality educational experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • New York State certification in Pre-Kindergarten (General Ed. Or Special Ed) or ability to obtain NYS certification through a plan of study.
  • Experience teaching preschool-age children, with a focus on child-centered and play-based learning approaches.

Clearance Requirements:
