About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Hampton/Home2 Dual Brand in Hattiesburg, MS. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our hotel's grounds, equipment, and facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain the pool area and exercise room to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.
  • Keep the grounds clear of visible trash and thoroughly clean the parking lot, sidewalks, breezeways, stairs, and entrance.
  • Check the maintenance log in the front office and address any issues or problems that arise.
  • Perform preventive maintenance duties to prevent equipment failures and ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
  • Report any problems that cannot be easily fixed to the manager on duty, so that professional help can be contacted.
  • Keep the storage area clean and organized, and ensure that all storage areas are locked before clocking out.
  • Verify that all exterior lights are working properly and report any issues to the manager.
  • Identify and address any safety hazards throughout the hotel to ensure a safe environment for our guests and staff.
  • Ensure that the stock room has sufficient inventory to last at least two weeks and report any supply needs to the GM.
  • Follow and complete the guest room inspection checklist on each room to ensure a high level of quality and cleanliness.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, filters on all HVAC units, and windows and doors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred.
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
