Aquatics Director

Job Summary:

The Director of Aquatics is responsible for overseeing all aspects of aquatics services and programming at Great Wolf Lodge. This includes operations, planning, budgeting, staffing, and payroll management. The successful candidate will ensure guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining profitability within the aquatics function.

• Develop and Implement Aquatic Programs: Create and execute comprehensive plans that support organizational objectives, effectively allocating resources and time across groups or departments.
• Fiscal Management: Manage aquatic operations budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, reviewing and approving all purchases for the department.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate team member performance against standards, including compensation changes.
• Guest Experience: Monitor, manage, and respond to guest comments, proactively addressing guest concerns with operational resolutions.
• Waterpark Operations: Develop, implement, and monitor schedules for the waterpark operation, ensuring effective waterpark operations.
• Risk Management and Safety: Oversee Risk Management and Safety programs, enforcing policies and procedures, and maintaining a working knowledge of general and departmental safety procedures.

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience managing large aquatics departments with various waterpark attractions
• Certifications: Ellis & Associates (E&A) International Lifeguard Training Program license, E&A Basic Leadership Training License, E&A Instructor License, Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) license
• Skills: Experience creating and maintaining documents with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), ability to motivate diverse groups to achieve extraordinary goals and overcome challenges

• Swimming Ability: Swim 50 yards in 4 ft. of water and retrieve a 10 lb brick from the bottom of pool
• Physical Demands: Sit or stand for extended periods of time, extended exposure to hot and humid environments, climb multiple flights of stairs
