Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Lead to join our Pain and GI Department. The successful candidate will provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, while also overseeing the management of patient flow and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in the pre/post-operative area, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications, equipment, and expected patient outcomes during surgery, as well as anticipated complications.
  • Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Act as a patient advocate, protecting and advancing their best interests at all times.
  • Maintain strong relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Initiate team member assignments and maintain daily staffing schedules.
  • Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement projects, driving continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure with the State of Oklahoma.
  • Minimum of one year experience in acute care, with preference given to those with Pain and GI experience.
  • Management or supervisory experience is highly desirable.
  • AHA BLS Healthcare certification required within 30 days of hire, if not currently certified.
  • AHA ACLS certification required within 120 days of hire, if not currently certified.
Physical Demands
  • Heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 lbs to 20 lbs of force constantly).
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional keyboard use and dexterity.
  • Effective verbal communication and ability to see, hear, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Environmental Conditions

High exposure to hazardous risks, including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Hazards will be minimized if universal safety procedures are followed.
