Role Overview:
As an Improvement Engineer at Lubrizol, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation by identifying and implementing process and technology enhancements within your area of expertise. This position involves leading a team to assess potential improvements and collaborating with technology specialists to gather necessary data for project scope definition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize advanced process technology and continuous improvement methodologies to establish credibility with operational teams.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, focusing on gap closure and project scope definition.
  • Collaborate with experts to develop project scopes and plans that align with business objectives.
  • Analyze production loss data to identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities.
  • Promote process safety throughout project design, working closely with operations to ensure safe manufacturing practices.
  • Guarantee the integration of effective technology by incorporating feedback from operations and maintenance teams.
  • Maintain accountability for the technical integrity and operability of supported units.
  • Facilitate effective communication between project teams and operations.
  • Support project front-end loading (FEL) as needed.
  • Oversee new product trials in the plant.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution; mechanical or chemical engineering preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leveraging technology for process optimization.
  • Visionary approach to maximizing value through process enhancements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and concepts.
  • Ability to engage with various levels and departments within the organization.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Proven influencing capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
