Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Senior Controls Systems Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and commissioning electronic and mechanical systems, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and program hardware and software using established standards, providing detailed information to communicate design and operation to customers and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate jobsite activities, ensuring installations meet Johnson Controls standards and project requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to subcontractors and perform complex commissioning and system diagnostics.
  • Effectively communicate project status to management and provide monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin.
  • Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment and complete administrative tasks, including time sheets and expense reports.
  • Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
  • Communicate with JCI contractors and customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training, demonstrating a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
Requirements
  • Two-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field, or at least 5 years of industry experience installing and commissioning electronic and/or mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical circuitry, and HVAC controls.
  • Proficiency with the engineering process, including the use of project-level tools for generating collateral and documenting job progress.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently start up and commission more advanced controls systems.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
  • PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC-related software.
  • Where legally permissible, if hired, candidate is required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 no later than his/her start date, unless candidate has a valid medical condition or sincerely held religious belief precluding he/she from receiving the vaccine.
