Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Plant Manager to lead our industrial lumber operations at Conner Industries Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility, including production, shipping and receiving, maintenance, and employee management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facility Leadership: Lead the entire operational team on-site, ensuring an efficient and effective operation in delivering quality products to our customers and maintaining security and operability of all assets at the site.
  • Safety and Quality Culture: Build a safety culture focused on diligence to best practice and good housekeeping, and a quality culture driven on alignment to customer needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a continuous improvement methodology utilizing lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Financial Management: Establish budgets and manage costs to drive improving financial performance.
  • ERP System Management: Ensure integrity of the ERP system data and manage company assets at the site.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure good working order of all equipment and facilities on site.
  • Supplier Management: Identify and manage local suppliers for maintenance, supplies, etc.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Act as company liaison for local regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Staffing and Training: Oversee staffing, training and employee development.
  • Policy Adherence: Communicate and support adherence to all corporate policies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical or business-related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in production or manufacturing environment, preferably in lumber remanufacturing, woodworking, or similar field.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of lean six sigma methodologies, experience in leading change, analytical thinking, data gathering and analysis, and strong communication skills.
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity of ERP systems and methods of scheduling, inventory and shipping, and strong computer skills with experience in the Microsoft Office suite.
Work Environment

The Plant Manager will work in a lumber remanufacturing facility with cutting and assembly equipment, indoor office area, and outdoor production and lumber yard management. Hearing protection, eyewear, and steel-toed shoes are required.
