Position Summary for Quality Control Associate:

The Quality Control Associate will play a vital role in supporting inspection operations at Fathom. This position will also assist with Quality Management Systems activities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform visual and dimensional mechanical inspections, adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for outsourced quality inspections.
  • Interpret and analyze engineering-level mechanical drawings effectively.
  • Establish acceptance/rejection criteria based on engineering specifications.
  • Conduct first article and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications in a dynamic environment.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformances, initiating Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) as necessary.
  • Inform relevant personnel regarding potential product rejections.
  • Document inspection outcomes through detailed reports and logs, accurately entering data into the quality database.
  • Execute inspection-related tasks as directed by customer specifications, the quality department, or management.
  • Engage in Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Foster effective working relationships across all manufacturing departments.
  • Maintain a consistent and predictable work schedule.
  • Participate in team training and internal audits.
  • Perform additional Quality Management System duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate degree in a relevant field or technical certification is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience is necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe applications.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks) is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings proficiently.
  • Familiarity with both metric and imperial measurement systems.
  • Working knowledge of measuring tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers) is essential.
  • Experience with inspection equipment is required.
  • ASQ Certification is a plus.
  • Training in print reading and/or GD&T is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of CMM operations is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • High attention to detail is crucial.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced team environment is necessary.
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Must be proficient in reading and writing English.
