Job Title: 2nd Shift Supervisor

At Rust Belt Recruiting, we are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven 2nd Shift Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to motivate a production team.

Job Summary:

  • The 2nd Shift Supervisor will oversee the activities of production personnel to meet customer, plant, and management requirements.
  • This role requires a high school graduate or GED with at least 2+ years' experience managing people in a machining or production setting.
  • The successful candidate will have strong leadership qualities, be results-oriented, and have a proven ability to lead and inspire a team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as a role model, leader, trainer, and mentor to the production team.
  2. Oversee and prioritize the activities of production personnel to meet customer, plant, and management requirements.
  3. Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for job completion.
  4. Maintain accurate production, quality, and timekeeping reports and records.
  5. Troubleshoot production and quality issues in collaboration with Production and Quality personnel.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • 2+ years' experience managing people in a machining or production setting is required.
  • Leadership Qualities: Results-oriented with a proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Motivated to help production team and seek out and resolve issues.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively influence, motivate, and set clear expectations for team members, ensuring follow-through and accountability.
  • Extensive knowledge of machining processes, equipment operation, and blueprint interpretation.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting complex machining issues.
  • Proficiency in Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies such as Lean, 5S, and Kaizen facilitation.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with team members, leadership, and cross-functional departments.
  • Ability to work professionally, tactfully, and collaboratively with diverse teams, external partners, and customers as needed.
