Shift Operations Manager

At Rust Belt Recruiting, we are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven 2nd Shift Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to motivate a production team.
Job Summary:
- The 2nd Shift Supervisor will oversee the activities of production personnel to meet customer, plant, and management requirements.
- This role requires a high school graduate or GED with at least 2+ years' experience managing people in a machining or production setting.
- The successful candidate will have strong leadership qualities, be results-oriented, and have a proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model, leader, trainer, and mentor to the production team.
- Oversee and prioritize the activities of production personnel to meet customer, plant, and management requirements.
- Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for job completion.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and timekeeping reports and records.
- Troubleshoot production and quality issues in collaboration with Production and Quality personnel.
Requirements:
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- 2+ years' experience managing people in a machining or production setting is required.
- Leadership Qualities: Results-oriented with a proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Motivated to help production team and seek out and resolve issues.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively influence, motivate, and set clear expectations for team members, ensuring follow-through and accountability.
- Extensive knowledge of machining processes, equipment operation, and blueprint interpretation.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting complex machining issues.
- Proficiency in Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies such as Lean, 5S, and Kaizen facilitation.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with team members, leadership, and cross-functional departments.
- Ability to work professionally, tactfully, and collaboratively with diverse teams, external partners, and customers as needed.
