Key Responsibilities:

The primary duties of the AI Engineer encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Crafting, developing, and deploying generative AI models and algorithms utilizing large language models (LLMs) for various applications such as text generation, audio transcription, and deriving insights from call center interactions.
  • Designing and implementing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) models in conjunction with vector databases, along with establishing effective strategies for embedding, chunking, and indexing to create specialized chatbots.
  • Writing Python code and integrating it with machine learning and AI management platforms, including but not limited to LangChain, Snowflake Cortex, OpenAI, and Azure AI Studio.
  • Formulating comprehensive design plans for AI and machine learning production solutions, selecting suitable algorithms, data sources, infrastructure, and technologies that align with the organization's objectives.
  • Identifying company and client challenges and leveraging AI capabilities to devise effective solutions.
  • Preparing and curating text data through processes such as cleaning, tokenization, and data augmentation to facilitate training and evaluation of AI models.
  • Conducting experiments and fine-tuning models to enhance their performance.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to pinpoint and prioritize critical business areas where AI solutions can yield substantial benefits.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and efficient AI solutions.
  • Deploying AI solutions in production settings while ensuring their stability and reliability.
  • Monitoring the performance of AI solutions continuously and implementing necessary improvements.
  • Staying abreast of advancements in AI technology and identifying opportunities to enhance existing solutions.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior members of the AI team.
  • Participating in code reviews to uphold high-quality coding standards.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in AI engineering or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience in developing AI or machine learning solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, OpenAI, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Generative AI, including advanced prompting techniques and preferably fine-tuning models.
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning, large language models, Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other AI frameworks.
  • Experience with evaluation frameworks for Generative AI, particularly in text generation contexts.
  • Experience in taking a Generative AI project from inception through to production and implementation.
  • Ability to think innovatively and collaborate on applying AI to solve business challenges across various domains.
  • Familiarity with call center environments and operational insurance platforms is advantageous.
  • Experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.

Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of AI concepts and algorithms, including deep learning, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning.
  • Solid grasp of software engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
