Anesthesia Equipment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Northwell Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of anesthesia equipment, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and care.
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Maintenance: Demonstrates knowledge of anesthesia equipment, troubleshoots issues, and initiates repairs to ensure optimal patient safety and care.
- Collaboration and Communication: Works collaboratively with the surgical team to promote positive patient outcomes, coordinates activities, and effectively communicates with team members.
- Quality Control and Logs: Maintains records of equipment maintenance, department statistics, and provides written reports to the supervisor.
- Safety and Infection Control: Follows protocol for safety and infection control practices, monitors the environment and equipment, and adheres to cleaning standards.
- Supply Management: Stocks supplies necessary for anesthesia administration, checks operating rooms for adequate supplies, and notifies management of supply needs.
- Equipment Preparation: Cleans anesthesia equipment, collects and restocks supply carts, and ensures the operating room is ready for use.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification: American Society of Anesthesia Technologists & Technicians Certification within two years of employment, preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience working in a hospital environment, preferred.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively.
