Job Summary

The Financial Counselor is a key member of the St. Joseph's Hospital team, responsible for working with patients who may be eligible for financial assistance options. This role involves collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare providers to identify and secure available resources, ensuring that patients receive the care they need without undue financial burden.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient financial needs and develop personalized plans to secure financial assistance
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to identify and secure available resources
  • Process and manage financial aid applications, including Medicaid and charity care
  • Develop and maintain relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory requirements and network policies related to financial assistance
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, finance)
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related field, preferably in patient financial services
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and network policies related to financial assistance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
