Job Description

Our Hotel Security team is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests and staff. As a Hotel Security Officer, you will be trained on front desk night audit procedures to cover shifts as needed.

You will remain knowledgeable of hotel security policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, as well as emergency procedures, operation of alarm doors, fire alarms, and key orientation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol allocated areas of the hotel and property as directed and watch for suspicious, irregular, prohibited, or dangerous activities, situations, or persons.
  • Prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Manage the collection, safeguarding, and redistribution of lost and found items.
  • Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances by addressing the violator and the complainant.
  • Take action to resolve the disturbance in the best interest of the hotel.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain the security of premises.
  • Warn violators of rules infractions and expel persons who pose danger to the hotel's well-being, using force when necessary.
  • Follow up with warned and expelled persons to ensure their compliance.
  • Call police, fire department, or ambulance in cases of a medical emergency, or any dangerous or threatening condition.
  • Take initiative to notify or warn guests and hotel staff of dangerous conditions or areas on the hotel's property.
  • Take the initiative to advise guests or staff of emergency situations or the need to abandon facilities.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality of all information.
  • Work as a team with other security officers, staff, and departments for the well-being of the hotel and guests.
  • Maintain logs and/or records of activity during the scheduled shifts.
  • Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
  • Provide assistance and/or information to guests and others when necessary.
  • Provide a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
